Floratam St. Augustine grass is one of the most widely used sods in the Florida area for its rich green color and ease of maintenance. Many communities use Floratam as their sod option to create picturesque yards and landscapes due to its ability to flourish in our climate and in many different soil types.
It has wide blades and a coarse texture make it a hearty grass for the warm and humid Florida weather, as it grows quickly in warmer months, but slows down to conserve its energy in colder months. This variety can also be planted in lightly shaded lawns.
Floratam has applications in many home and commercial applications; however, it is not immediately suggested for sports fields.
